Book Review: A Resilient Farm and Homestead by Ben Falk

Finally, another book review! Sorry it’s taken me so long to get this video posted this month.

A Resilient Farm and Homestead is one of the best books I’ve read this year. First, you flip through the pages of this book and find a thousand gorgeous photos and really helpful diagrams. It’s just a lovely book that makes reading it such a joy. The content is also exquisitely laid out and organized making the information very approachable for a cover to cover read and a flip to the resource needed type book. Gah, it’s just such a fun and inspiring read!

I cannot tell you how helpful the content has been on my own permaculture adventures. While I don’t own any land myself, my parents did just move their farm to a new site. We’ve used a ton of ideas from it at the new site. It was also a great way for me to introduce permaculture to my parents (conventional Agricultural backgrounds), and it gave us a good foundation for discussions on the merits and disadvantages of the philosophy. Ben Falk has done an outstanding job with this book and his research farm! I hope to one day get to meet him, or better yet, attend a PDC at his farm!
